Skip the perfume aisle. At Wndrmade®, we aren’t just inspired by nature, it’s what we’re made of.
We craft all of our fragrances in-house, using only essential oils and botanical extracts derived directly from plant materials. Our ingredients are consciously sourced from the purest, highest quality, and environmentally responsible providers around the world, blended by hand at our Catskill Mountain hideaway to create truly unique, beautiful, and REAL smelling candles that have all the complexities and curiosities that nature intended.
Here’s a list of all the ingredients we use in our fragrances. Check back often as we expand our offerings:
Distilled from a small bushy tropical evergreen tree that grows wild in the Bahoruco Forest of the Dominican Republic. It is in this forest where the environmentally friendly task widely known as ‘cleaning the forest floor’ of only dead, dry wood for distillation helps to prevent fires and gives young, green saplings a better chance to thrive. We use Amyris in our perfumery profiles as a sweet, woody fixative and a compliment to other prominent fragrance notes.
BALSAM FIR Botanical name: Abies balsamea Origin: Canada
The balsam of fir needles is a remarkable air purifier, clearing a room of offensive odors and microbes.

Bergamot oil has many applications in addition to being greatly valued for its calming and balancing properties – its fresh, sweet, citrus aroma is very pleasing and uplifting to the spirit.
BLACK PEPPER Botanical name: Piper nigrum Origin: Madagascar
Used in trace amounts to add interest or 'flavor' to other notes in our perfumes.

BLUE CYPRESS Botanical name: Callitris
A grounding, complimentary fragrance that we use to support wood notes and floral notes, with the added benefit of a natural mosquito repellent.
CARDAMOM Botanical name: Elettaria cardamomum Origin: Tanzania
Cardamom oil has a very long history of use in food, medicine and perfumery. We use Cardamom as a lively middle note in multiple fragrances.
Fortunately, we found a company that works with an essential oil producer who sources cedarwood stumps, trees from clean-up cuts and wood residue (sawdust) from which to distill the essential oil; in addition, they work with their suppliers to evaluate and improve sustainability, tools and practices in all stages of production. Ensuring the sustainability of vulnerable biological species is a very important aspect that we consider when sourcing our oils.
CINNAMON BARK Botanical name: Cinnamomum zeylanicum Origin: Sri Lanka
Needs no introduction, we use Cinnamon Bark to add a warm spice note in our natural perfumes.
Part of the Rock Rose family, we use Cistus as a substitute for animalic, leathery, and musk notes in small amounts. We also find that Cistus has a notable "warming" aromatherapy effect in our Patchouli candle.
CLARY SAGE Botanical name: Salvia sclarea Origin: USA
Clary Sage has a fresh, bittersweet, almost peppery aroma that we use in many fragrance profiles. It contains Linalyl acetate, a form of linalool, and has been demonstrated in human studies to promote calm and relaxation, particularly for women suffering from PMS. (source)
Coriander Seed oil contains between 60-87% of the gentle monoterpene alcohol linalool, and we use it as a sustainable alternative to the endangered Rosewood oil, due to the remarkably similar fragrance profile.
Although it is so beautiful and complex on it's own, we use this wild grown Frankincense essential oil to compliment our Patchouli base, most notably.
GRAPEFRUIT (PINK) Botanical name: Citrus paradisi Origin: USA
One of our favorite citrus oils, Pink Grapefruit is lighter and sweeter than expected, while also having the added benefit of nootkatone, a nontoxic sesquiterpene ketone, which is effective in repelling disease-carrying insects. (source)

MAGNOLIA Botanical name: Magnolia x alba Origin: China
A very sweet, floral bouquet. On it's own can be overpowering, but in trace amounts and in just the right blend, this oil adds an amazingly unique perfumery note.

We use this extremely versatile oil in several fragrance bases. It is an excellent fixative and blends very well with other oils, especially florals.
PERU BALSAM Botanical name: Myroxylon balsamum Origin: El salvador

Petitgrain Bigarade essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves and twigs of the bitter orange tree, the same tree that produces Neroli from the blossoms. It has a fresh, leafy-green, lightly floral, citrus aroma with light bitter/dry notes and rich, sweet undertones.
